A nod to Mo

I'm a die hard Red Sox fan who couldn't help but be moved by the ceremony Mo recieved from the Sox. I also was a little teary eyed during the Yankees goodbye to Mo. Baseball has loved the time he has spent in the game and I think Major League Baseball fans have loved every second as well.
Watching Big Papi drive that run in,
and see him stare down at the ground in disgust,
I suddenly got a dream to believe in,
and watching this pitcher pitch became a must,
The most saves in MLB history,
five world championships and an MVP,
countless teammates to tell you millions of stories,
and nineteen years to try and remember who you see,
I hate Mo because he always killed the Sox,
but I loved him because you knew what he'd pitch,
His cutter gunned away like a motor boat from the docks,
His hand seemed connected with the ball, vein to stitch,
Hearing everything he has done behind the scenes this season,
and the countless interviews and autographs he's gladly given out,
has given me something to believe in,
maybe more athletes will be like him,
A consummate professional with manners of a saint,
Someone who never tried to be someone he ain't
