Octopus Joey

Octopus Joey

Oceans here, oceans there, in comes the tide, out goes the waves

Deep, deep down the ocean lay, a volcanic mass, with a huge blast

A bolder rock fell in front of the cave, inside lived a merry octopus family

Now trapped inside, not knowing what to do, they yelled real loud hoping some one would hear

An orphan octopus, named Joey, was playing around, when he heard a loud sound

Joey only had two hands instead of eight, he was born too early the shark doctor said

He swam over to the screaming and such, then realized the family was stuck

Though Joey only had two tentacles for hands, he was very, very strong and not afraid

So with all his might he took a deep breath, and wrapped his two arms around the huge rock

Pulling hard, and lifting up, with a gallant victory, he was able to free his eight legged, soon to be friends

A mollusk family were thrilled with joy, jumping up and singing, for Joey, was now their heroe

And they had him over for a fish fry under a seashell lava lamp with all the trimmings

This was a happy, happy ending, and a new family who adopted Joey as their son

Octopus Joey, told his story, over and over, for all its glory

It was so thrilling, and had so much meaning, I think, I'll just tell it again, from the very beginning
