Poem -

"Okay?"

"Are we okay?"
I ask the phone
You stumble out a reply
Its a loaded gun
You say you love me
Till the end of time
I wonder what that means
Yours, or mine?
I wake in the night
On your side of our bed
The sheets are cold
There is no love
"Are we okay?"
I ask the empty room
The silence begs an answer
But no answer comes soon
"Are you okay?"
I ask you hand in hand
You answer you're fine
And I'm alone all afternoon
"I love you baby"
You say as you kiss my neck
"Are you okay?" You ask
As you trace my jaw
I can't answer
Without showing my flaws
I can't say
I'm up all night
Not knowing the answer
To that question
