Open Fields

Their conscious state had life kiss them goodbye
A hope vanished as death consumed a higher feat
Both had faded into the silence of  peace
as the wilderness allowed a past to remain

Through its playground echoes consume a journey
laughter has scattered its essence throughout the trees
No longer chains lie in turmoil as the darkness descends
 A link stronger than the heavens still hold in the stillness

Shallow their graves as the leaves descend beneath
Sacred dust lingers after torment ended
 love has finally escaped with its essence
and freedom had won a place through open fields
