Poem -

Our Guilt

I'm unprepared so I stare froze,
Witnessing the footage of abuse in a care home,

They are left to call it their home,
But they're scared cold,

Because they know that those that are supposed to be there to care, don't,

I can't let it go so my tears flow,

My heart races and my hands shake,

I can't imagine I would leave after seeing a look of such grief on my nans face,

God damn the damn state,

I bet the prime ministers mother would never be living in such a bad way,

There's no excuse,

We need to expose truth,

I can't believe some are still naive,
Even though they've shown proof,

God bless the defenceless,

I feel stressed 'coz I can't protect the ones who used to represent us,

Don't be useless let us get up,

And press thumbs on the buttons of those who rose only to oppress us,

Side by side, explore a generations wonder,

Alone we are silent,

But together we are thunder.
