Performer

My stomach twists
show no restraint
Carrying a corpse
In such a lively smile
To perform, to be applauded, The Ring leader says there's no danger
But the crowd tells me there soon should be
Their hungry eyes tell me so
Blue flames dancing on metallic hoops
The nauseating smell of my prison
The crack of a whip
The horrors will make sure I'm never alone again
The booing, the applauding
all for my torment
Staying loyal to the gaze of those inside my home
the striped carnival tent
Illusions are brought to life
Color's become the smoke of the burning flames
Soaring, and jumping, gliding, balancing, flipping,
Trying not to lose my head
These shows keep repeating
Endlessly bound
Until I've become the illusions and noises that surround me
I hide in the corners until the people find me
Tear me away
Force me to entertain
Oh, how much longer I can be like this I do not know
Bringing the beautiful to life
Filtering out the morbid with my heart
Shackled, locked, trapped
In these magic hours
No one will let me go
So for all of eternity
I am servant to the audience
