John, I understand your anger, but two wrongs never make a right. A human math equation I never realized how true, till later on in life. The police are not our enemy. The enemy is ourselves, reflected in the behavior of our police who do our bidding. We currently live in a nation where different rules of law enforcement are applied according to economic class.
If instead of a poor man, from Staten Island, selling an untaxed cigarette, the same police, were ordered to arrest a 'Hedge Fund Hog' on Wall Street, the amount, and type of force, would be totally different. Till we fulfill the last line of the 'Pledge of Allegiance' which states, "with liberty and justice for all", we cannot expect people to respect the law, and those who enforce it. For 'respect for the law', not 'fear of the law' is a necessary requirement, if we can expect people to obey the rules of our society.
This truth John, I did not just create, it's was written down with tears and blood by many before me. I'm just repeating it. So I strongly encourage you to keep that passion your anger has produced, and direct it towards more positive change. Get involved in your city or town's government. Encourage, safer, and more clear rules of law enforcement. And most important, to encourage respect for the law, and those who enforce it, demand a crack down on white collar crime.
If our nation pursued tax fraud among the 1%, like they did, for this one untaxed cigarette, instead of being buried in debt, our country's coffers would be overflowed with gold. This sad fact, was my motivation for writing this poem.
Just keep'n it real, John, and I ask that you please do the same.

I'm baffled by the cops that get away with murder.
This is how I feel. "To kill a cop, a cop to kill, it's
what's been written in God's will."
