Poetty Tips

Poetty Tips

Don't make it too long, we like to breathe between stanzas,
not too many dedications, surely we prefer live citations,
pathos is misused, trying to drag sadness out of me and you,
some take a 'simple' thing and they are better than all of us.

They asked a Japanese poet where he got his ideas from,
he replied: 'For Godssake dear boy, I just pluck them from the sky,'
too true, he was just raking his stones, not throwing bones;
Byron and Shelley said: Send that rural guy to me, delightfully.

'We will instruct, what is permissable or alien to us,
remember, we were of renown, whether you like it ot not,
of course, they're no boundaries, who do you think we were?
we'll tell you - beyond whatever you may aspire to be.'

The rebukes are finished - we invite you to our memory,
that Japanese man was with us laughing as part of our history.
