POTHOLE FROM HEAVEN

Pothole in the road
Between me and a grade school
God made this one I know true
With a heart shaped mold
God loves those children
Her finger to the pavement
She pressed out a holy heart
Speed bump from Heaven
Rain filled the hole
Mixed with runoff gasoline
On top reflected a sheen
Of a pretty rainbow
Smiling at me
Located in the alley between me and St. Paul Academy.

Hey Kimmy what a cool picture for your beautiful write . Cheers rock
Thanks Cheri,
A little related trivia. The pot hole is located between me, and St. Paul Academy. It's private elementary school who's alumni includes the great F. Scott Fitzgerald.
I'm by know means a great poet. But I find solace in knowing I walk in the shadows of a great poet. :)
Thanks Hardrock, but the truth be told, you know your life is boring when you start seeing images in potholes. ;(
Oh my gosh, just found this poem. All stars from me. Love it.
I agree!! ! Love it!

Thank you Shirley. The photo is one I took of the pothole of what I speak. Indeed, it's in an alley between my place and a playground. People speeding down the alley was a real problem before it appeared. And because it makes folks slow down, indeed, it is a gift from heaven.
Thanks Val.
