Pray.

I was a child alone in the park,
climbing trees, happy and carefree,
hiding from tall people who walked on by,
the sun was high, then it went dark,
our father in Heaven, hallowed be your name,
from this day forth, I carry the shame, I carry the shame.
Deeper into the trees, I couldn't see home,
tall people voices no longer heard,
never been this far from mothers eyes,
getting scared being all alone,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven,
whats that noise, something is near and present.
An old man with raggedy clothes appears,
holding a bottle of beer, he smells like a sewer,
you want money boy, come here,
I'm lost and scared, wide eyed, he senses fear,
he drops his bottle and grabs my curly blonde hair,
give us this day our daily bread, and forgive my debts,
as we have forgiven our debtors,
what is happening, save me,
O' my god, O' my god. O' my god save me.
Rough, wrinkled hands around my throat,
can't breath, pissing my pants,
trying to punch and kick,
he growls, he smells,
throws me to the ground, disturbing brown leaves,
hand gripping my hair, hand pulling down my shorts,
his clothes stink of shit, his head is between my legs,
why is there sand paper rubbing my legs,
I'm numb, I see birds flying,
I see clouds, I'm panting,
can't scream, oh my god, what is he doing,
he's growling, I'm wet,
there's a voice, shouts,
he's off me, he runs, I scream and scream and scream,
a man, a neighbor, Mr Baker, is running to me,
his voice is calming,
I'm screaming and sobbing,
he bends down to pick me up,
my face is wet with tears,
snot coming out onto his shoulder,
I feel numb, but I feel what happened down there,
Mr Baker is shouting something, he running now,
thru the trees, there's home, I cry even more,
he's shouting my mothers name, again and again and again,
she comes out the front door, she's running,
I'm screaming, she's shouting my name,
she's screaming my name,
she's crying,
closer, closer,
I'm squirming in Mr Bakers arms,
I slide down his chest, his legs, I can't stand,
I collapse to the ground, its cold, so cold,
mummy's here,
I scream her name, she's crying,
she kneels,
she cradles me in her warm arms,
she's shaking, I'm shaking,
she holds me tight,
and lead us not into temptation, but to deliver us from evil.

Thanks for your comments Tony. I've had this poem on the back burner, so to speak, for a while now. I was waiting for the right time to have the courage to make it public. Today, I noticed on Facebook that women were coming forward with their experiences of sexual abuse, and I thought its not just women who have fallen prey to sexual deviants, so, I thought now would be a good time to make public my experience. It took me many years to get over that afternoon as a boy, and there were only 3 people who knew what happened, my parents and my wife. Talking about it was freeing in a sense, but when I wrote it, I literally relived the ordeal, shaking and crying. I've read the poem 26 times since writing it, and now there just words on a screen. Emotionally, I'm in a good place, the memories are still vivid, but now they are just images that can't hurt me anymore.
Hello Chris...
WOW!
I'm in agreeance with Tony...
I know horrific things happen and most end up dead or completely traumatized for life...
I felt as if I was there watching this crime and no one could see me and no one could here me and...
WOW again...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
