PRETTY PETAL SYNDROME....

A flower without petals
Just a stalk...with a few leaves
No flags to guide the pathway
For the pollen-hungry bees.

A rose would just be full of spikes
A thorn in every side
No petals displaying beauty
Leaving him no place to hide

An orchid...so exotic
Becomes a simple stem
If only we took notice
How much petals make this gem

Poison Ivy wields no flower
Yet made it's claim to fame
An itchy rash
Needing a scratch
And what a splendid name..!

Who says a flower
Holds the power...?
Petals....are for the vain
I say that.....
Tall poppy syndrome
Is partially to blame!
