Prince Charming?
Are you real?
Stop holding onto the false hope that you’re going to find you’re very own Prince Charming. We grew up in a fantasy of having a happily ever after. Love isn’t like it is for told in movies. They don’t always show you the fights in-between or what happens after the happily ever after . They don’t prepare you for heartbreak. Sure, granted some tell or show heartbreak, and give a mental note of what it’s like , but it’s not the same. They don’t prepare you for actually feeling heartbreak. Truly giving yourself to someone, just for it to come back to bite you in the ass. They don’t tell you that with every heartbreak, the little hope we had for “Prince Charming” starts to fade. Every failed relationship, every heartache ever felt , slowly makes our hearts a little colder . So why continue on the hunt for love when it seems as if nobody can love you back? The reality is, this isn’t a movie. Not everyone finds that person to spend the rest of their life with. Not everyone gets a happily ever after we thought we were promised.Â

Hello and good morning from Newark, Ohio. I'm feel so fortunate to have found your poem. Prince charming only exist in fairy tales, is what I took from the story, how true. I liked how you narrated the poem.
Favorite part:Â
Stop holding onto the false hope that you’re going to find your very own Prince Charming.
I think by adding a little more descriptions about the person you had loved, or descriptions about what type of man you are looking for: honest, warm, funny, etc... Just some initial ideas.
Whether you leave it as is, or if you decide to keep working on it, I'm glad I was able to read your story this morning. Keep up the good work, never stop writing.Â
