Proud in the Crowd

Proud in the Crowd

Homecoming parade, everyone will be there from our small town

Such a proud day, our high school football players cant' wait for the game

The floats decorated in pride, the young boys and girls ride and wave in delight

What a beautiful day to celebrate, everyone watching as the band plays, the flags are flying

The junior high boys are dressed in their jersey's ready for their first game next Tuesday

The homecoming king and queen riding in a black thunderbird convertable, the queen smiles sweetly

Candy tossed out to the roadside, everyone running to catch it, fun with friends, families

What a treat, our rescue team, here comes the fire trucks, and the local ambulance setting off their sirens

Next is our veteran's dressed in their blues, white caps and white gloves we all salute to you

We couldn't forget the old time tractor's the Case IH nineteen twenty-six with the neighbor boy Luke driving it

The cub scouts and the boy souts, riding in pride on the hayrack ride, sitting by a make believe campfire pit

Last but not least is the best of the best, the rodeo clowns and the barrel of laughs, with their buckets of paper confetti

Each year we all come together to cheer on our students, the school, the team

The parade brings on a good feeling, for a new year beginning, we're finally ready

We call out their names, and give them our hurrays, the bonfire will be lit up tonight

The theme this year is Harry Potter, let the wizards win this mystical game

As the parade moves on, we are all proud in the crowd
