Red Blood Flower Moon of Mercy
Fighting for land on the earths bounty
The deaths shadow of blood shed the perfume of decayed scent
The full moon red like flames of fire spread over the valleysÂ
Hungry for survival the beast of greed only flourished
The equality of mankind perished into ashes and bones remains
Though the power of the red flower moon shines for decades for the righteous descent
Let there be mercy for our shame

This is most excellent NANCY!!.....It is shameful to say the least.....what happened to the American Indians here.....the stealing of their land.....the raping and pillaging of their lineage......the truly SHAMEFUL acts committed by the White Men of that time....not ALL of them....but the one's with power enough to hide the atrocities committed......this poem, in its succinctness is a MIGHTY TESTAMENT to the fact that the pain is still fresh in many-a-mind!!....I hope I didn't misinterpret your poem my friend,.....Perhaps it's just me seeing what I want to see because my Grandfather is/was a 100% full blooded Cherokee Indian.....at least that's what my aunt's and Uncle's say......but the fact is my grandfather was a VERY closed-mouthed individual.......we simply could not get him to talk about his past much before he died!!......regardless, a great man to my mind......and a fine poem you have here dear poet sister!!....PINNED!!....well penned!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo : )
Tony, my friend, you read it with your soul and did not misinterpret.
As that is what I was trying to display in a different dialog so to speak.
Thanks for your appreciation, always a pleasure to hear from you
Best Wishes
