Revealing

Revealing

I stand before you in the purist form there is
All scars, all wounds
Heart on my sleeves
If, they were any

In the madness of it all
We lost, lost what was part of us
While trying to find a steady path

On the canvas before you
Paint for me, what I appear to be
Go on, I stand here in utter tranquility
Revealing each detail to the light in your eyes

Your eyes
Your eyes that glance at me briefly
Yet focused and then at the canvas.

Each stroke you paint
each shade you create
Remember love
I chose to stand before you
as the mere man that I am

lovely sense of purity to contrast with rawness throughout. Great poem.
