Poem -

Save Our Souls

Nobody loves anyone
All is just illusion,
Throwing sex into the mix
Just adds to the confusion.

So many people seeking out
Their little slice of life,
Too many folk, so little time
It's bound to end in strife.

How sad it makes me to see
Us all scratching for a home,
Understanding fundamentally
Each of us stands alone.

I've made myself a solemn vow,
Though I no longer really care,
I'll seek out the simple things in life
And I will not despair.

I will not covet any other life
Nor concern over those 'goals',
Our humanity cuts us like a knife
Will no-one save our souls?
