Scarecrow

Scarecrow, upon death row
Not forgotten, saved by the sparrow
Skin and bone, no feast for the crow
Who pecked out both eyes and devoured meats' marrow.
This feeble structure stands useless in fields
Where I once guarded gardens', of my owners yield
Away from harm he stands erect,
As rigor mortis shield protects,
The bony body from deaths effects
While sparrows'Â beaks seek to prod and peck.
Two tiny wings take rest in palms
Salvaging the scarecrows arms.
Flying through his fragile frame
He hangs his head of straw in shame.
Again the sparrows came...
