Scary

Scary

Watching tv late one night,
I heard a noise outside,
Instead of going to investigate,
I wanted to run and hide.

The power in the house went on and off,
And more rustling from a nearby tree,
If i wasn't so scared I'd hide my nerves,
And peep through the blinds to see.

A flash of light appeared through the blinds,
And then a following crack,
Why not cue in that thunderstorm,
As the night was all so black.

Fingers tapping on the glass,
My heart was racing now,
I thought come in and get me,
I was ready to throw in the towel.

I have seen all those movies,
And i know my life i care,
I am not about to open the door,
And say the words “who's there”.

I am sure if i start running,
I would trip over my feet and fall,
I'd be then gobbled up by the monster,
He would eat arms legs and all.
