Sea of Tears

Sea of Tears

~Sea of Tears~

~†~

Spurred by sounds upon the wind,
I hear the ocean call my name.
Even my own voice, my heartbeat,
cannot deny her presence.
The distant cries of angry, ancient seas,
forlorn whispers–ominous fears,
hear thee now, this anecdote of misery.

 ...

Heartbreaking, threadbare and mournful
thy haunting cries carry echoes;
whirlpools of remembrance and pain,
abandoned ships, gossamer remains,
embodied spirits of lost sailors,
lighthouses of lives lost in the cosmos
there, just upon the surface of the seas,
a domain of blue–the Albatross soars,
melodious, weak and strained,
exiled from the skies,
fading memories, my time is nearly complete.

...

Laying before this ominous omen exposed,
A curse, a burden, a sign of regret?

...

One to be carried as mine own penance,
a myriad of thoughts condescending,
denying the darkness,
anguish of one sailor’s shattered mind;
this taught, tattered and wretched soul,

bleached bones caressed by rocking waves
fragility bequeathed in fragments,
disintegrates into oblivion,
demonic barriers of dreaded demise.

 ...

Saddened yet wiser,
a mind, tortured, though tamed.
I drift towards mine own new existence,
one of yesterday’s past;
on the sea of broken waves,
unspoken gazes, stained teardrops,
dark and trembling, haunting agonies,
inked fantasies, ancient memories.

 ...

Tormented, tattered, torn,
a soul's journey through primeval scrolls,
the gentle breeze guides through tempest waters,
zealous zephyrs push frayed sails homeward
emerging from darkness into light,
facing destiny while finding clarity,
feeling the hard hand of humanity,
on the beach, beside serenity
beneath the setting of the slightly smirking sun.

My Dear Dean,

I drift through the endless "Sea Of Tears"
Drowning in my future's fears
I search for land, to find place to rest
My sobbing Soul, my heart-torn chest

.
"No man is an island", that once I read
But I'll take my chances, so to there will I head
Maroon me forever, this World I depart
Alone then at last, to make my new start

Sending love,
Larry xxx
