Have you lost all respect for me?

My heart swells, swift and dangerously.    
I spread my wonders all about you:    
Black pearls, spiked stars and pastel angel wings.    
Yet you gather up the man-o-war which stings.

I bring you salt from depths unknown.

Do you not taste the tears I’ve thrown?    
You choose the fiddler crab as playmate.    
White lobster waits beneath hard-foaming waves,    
With anemones of myst’ries stored in caves.    
     
Don’t you feel the fury of my thrusts against the cliffs  
Where the barnacles of apathy yet cling?    
Listen to the pounding rush of lust      
Within the swift swirl of adoration.  
At your feet I sing, cry as I sing.

I gave the kiss of life to you.

You need me just as I need you.    
Tend to my clenching and releasing    
As with these wet breaths I am teaching true:    
If I dry up now, the whole world shall die too.
