Second Chances

I've once felt a feeling of regret, of a second chance that I never got. Let alone success wasn't in my eyes, they were set on you. I never would've thought I'd be where I am now. So the lost soul stumbles upon something of value and never lets it go. The heart that seems to beat your name. I know I've lost it. I know my ramblings are woven with insanity. My feelings are simply not matched. I wanted you, and you wanted everything, leaving me nothing. You took my heart overnight when you said sweet nothings. Little did I know as glass shatters so would my heart. I'm afraid of losing you, I'm afraid of losing my mind. You're my last hope. You carry my dreams. You've seen the monster I truly am, and they damaging way I was treated. Yet, your eyes never sparkled so much for another. Like an abandoned cat in the rain I'm left on the outside. I'm simply watching you fall in love and I can't stop it. I could scream but nothing would be heard. A feather hitting the ground would be louder than me. I have no grip on reality. I'm losing my grip on life. Only thing is, we don't get second chances.
