Poem -

security blanket

When I was little,

I had a blanket.

It was my security.

When things got bad,

or sad,

or scary,

I held on to it tight.

I would squeeze and hug it close,

Until the badness went away.

Some days I would use it more than others.

As I grew up, it grew smaller.

Pieces would fall off,

Threads would unravel.

And then one day, it was gone.

Along with my childhood.
