SEND IN THE CLOWN (S)

SEND IN THE CLOWN (S)

Isn't it rich? Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground and you in mid-air,
send in the clowns,
make me laugh in this time of despair.

The King asked the joker to make him laugh,
not since he saw a cheetah in his path,
had there been such delight on this bawdy night,
not since the Queen had turned a paler shade of white.

The joker delivered his gratuitous cheesey comments,
King reprimanded him because they didn't make sense,
he said: 'Sorry, my lord, I'll try to stop you being bored,
'Not to do so,'the King said, 'Will be more than you can afford.'

'When you're finished just playing to the gallery,
then you can learn how to make more magic and mystery.
