Shadows

Shadows

The bomb went off and everyone ran helter-skelter
Seeking to hide where there was shelter
There I watched as my charred body scattered on earth
As I and others were blasts to death

From nowhere my loved ones came around
And there my charred  remains they surround
Their hearts obviously broken as they cried
Although dead, I watched them and I too cried

I woke up drenched with sweat and frightened
There and then my thoughts were heightened
It was only a dream that looked so real
I was so frightened that I got the chill

What if it was real and not a dream?
What if I had actually died in real?
What exactly would I be remembered for?
What shadows has my life cast for God?

There and then I decided to make amends
To live a life that God would commend
To cast long shadows for God as that’s my priority
By encouraging others when they’re down in my capacity

Our lives are short believe it or not
What we do through others to God
Have an impact and would be remembered
Even when we are gone, that cannot be altered!

Hi Sweet Rose,

Dream a little dream for me.  Think of the bluest blues, the most gentle cascades, the most verdant greens.  The purest atmosphere, alive with sounds of silence, and Angels strumming harps.  For this is a dream I have had about the Paradise of Heaven.  This can be a preview , to what someday, will be your home.

Love,

Daddio xxx

Your poetry is popular due to a willingness to share what you feel and believe. You seem to see the light and spread the strength of purpose you have gained from it through your poems.

You weave a rich tapestry of understanding for many to learn from.

Shadows is a wonderful poem, as you always produce.

Take care.  :)

Hello Rose,

How I miss this is beyond me....Dreams are for reasons, those that appear as realistic premonitions, (just as this one), should never be ignored. I'm (quite sure), that this wasn't the topic of discussion before you laid down for your slumber, although many would say,"what you think about last is what you dream"..I tend to find this totally untrue..I have had dreams, whereby (had nothing to do with anything thought about), throughout the entire day, that within a week's time, actually transpired, (exactly as it did in my dream). Some dreams I let the actions playout,(in real life), as it did in the dream (but others), I took the liberty to change, how the out come ended. Whereby acknowledging which part of the dream, was detrimental to my well being, when that section of the dream came into play......Could even be (passed on) loved ones, wanting you to reassure them, that you will not deviated (from the you), which travels the path of spiritual correctness..What ever the case, don't ever change my friend and remain traveling down the path you have paved, because I am quite sure, its the one (God) has selected and have placed his stamp of approval, on what he has in stow (for just you).......Many hugs my friend...... Jim

I believe in dreams...and I believe sometimes God speaks to us through our dreams..You're right it wasn't even close to the topic of discussion before I laid down...I too find it untrue..I also have had dreams of things I didn't think or talk about for a whole week....Yeah there are times you find your dreams playing out in real life that you can even predict the next action because you'd seen it before...I hope and pray never to deviate but to keep on moving on that path...I'm glad you took out time to write this...It's rewarding to know you actually connect to the write...Thanks a million Jim....Many hugs to you too my friend
