Simple But True Change
By Anne Reeves

I hear the sound
of voices far away
but always here to stay
the gentle hands that held me
taught me how to pray
to clap and sing for change and chance
to laugh and enjoy
how to eat with fingers and chopsticks
like in the East,
fork, spoon and knife like the West.
To spell and read, to count and add.
School was just super
for tutor was mum when I came home.
The shooting star - oh your dad
from heaven has sent another angel
to care and be here and guide all on,
Sunny holidays flying kites
on dry padi fields with my brother
then playing marbles
skipping and winning with my sisters
and friends.- many rainbow colours.
School is over then higher studies
work a pleasure and meeting friends
slowly golden lights fade as
we part and memories stay.
There comes my soul mate
to share my blues and greys.
Harmony and style in golden fields.
Happy days to have and hold
constant process forever changing
look at us with a sense of wonder
the face and hands and voice
for the signs of change.

Wow Anne this is a stunning reflection on the intricate cycle of life itself. I just love the use of colour that filters through as you take the reader on your journey. The colours changing just as life transforms and moves us forward to the next chapter. Wonderfully penned
Many thanks for sharing

WOW!! Miss ANNE!!....I must agree with Gwen here ~ A powerfully poetic reflection on the intricacies and constantly changing cycle of life......I REALLY wish more of Cosmos writers had a chance to read this...it would certainly be beneficial to any and all who read it!!.......once you find the rhythmic heartbeat of this it is absolutely engrossing!.......there are gorgeous images and insights sprinkled all throughout its architecture ~

Truly clever stuff Anne...... and then approaching poems end..... you allow the reader to realize that the whole of it has to do with the circle of life itself ~
