Poem -

Sipping ouzo at sunset

an ode to Daniel Klein

Sipping ouzo at sunset

Lazily staring
Into the sun
He sits and he sits
Sipping ouzo at dawn

Under the shade
Of a tree bearing gifts
On the hill near the house
Where his Grandpa was born

He wants for nothing but time
Spent on the hill
Remembering love-songs
Sung to his wife

Now he picks olives
Strumming her strings
Sipping ouzo at sunset
Raising his glass to their life

_______________

An ode to Daniel Klein, who believes in the here and now.
