Somewhere In Between...

Somewhere In Between...

Somewhere in between stained wine glasses and Bob Dylan, you disappeared,
Your smile and tapping foot gave way to drunken sleep
Somewhere in between meaningful conversations and angry arguments, you vanished
You slowly stopped laughing, and instead began to weep
Somewhere in between my adolescence and early adulthood, you changed
Your warm, comforting cuddles became an icy embrace
Somewhere in between your adulthood and middle-age, you faded
Your shining eyes embedded in wrinkles on your face
Somewhere in between patience and effortless hatred, I gave up on you
I was adamant there would be no chance of reprieve
Somewhere in between the dusk and the cold light of day, you left us
Your spirit gave up too and decided to leave
