Sonnet 4 We Met on a Cross Road

Sonnet 4
We Met on a Cross Road
— To Ruijie
By Sophy Chen
I've searched you on web by all your key words
Thousands of times I failed with great sadness
By accident you appeared in my dream
Last night we met on our way to classroom
But I didn't know which University it was
It looks like around mountains, trees and cliffs
As if our departure we met on a cross road
With smile in vain at each other we looked
“Where are you going to?” unnaturally I asked
“On my way to be a linguist” You said
“I'd like to be a poet” eagerly I said
With long hair dancing in the wind you nodded
Suddenly I was woken by women gossiping
Out side of window with some dogs barking

China wow ....I am going to follow you...
This ending is different but interesting:
Suddenly I was woken by women gossiping
Out side of window with some dogs barking
Thanks Mark,
This poem is not a translated version. I wrote it myself in English language and I am not an English native speaker so you may think it is translated.
Thank you so much Mark, thanks for your true comments.I love your words and thanks

In china if people do not live in very expensive villa, your life will be like this.
It is reality in China with more than 13 Billion people and it is so noisy anywhere.
Thanks for your comments again Mark

Dear Cherie,
Thanks for your words!
It is true dreams can sometimes be prophetic
She can not find her and they may have no same language
She may think the linguist is different from the poet
As a peot the poetess herself may think she can understand the linguist.
Thank you again
