Spring

Spring

It matters not the tide of seas
or what the earth may bring
so long as morning sun appears
and red-winged blackbirds sing

It matters not that winter’s here
for spring will over-ride
and flowers in our gardens bloom
and neighbours will delight

expansive smile on their face
as buds brings colour’s afternoon
with cushion under knee, I kneel
treating petals like a tune

with harmony the music plays
like mirrored face of rouge
your fingers tweak the perfect bar
like lovers midnight croon

between the chill of freezing
and the harshest summer heat
spring will surely blossom, dear
when gardens’ chant complete

---

for all of you in the Northern Hemisphere getting reading for a chilly winter, remember Spring is just around the corner.Β
