Standing in the Dark

You might think by what I do that I’m wise like a sage
But underneath if you turn the page
You’ll find my deep seated anger and rage
I’m unstable, good thing I have an outlet
That allows me to keep this beast in check
And continue to strive to earn your respect
I’m not trying to be famous at all
I just want to be remembered after I fall
When the reaper comes to call
I am what I am and that’s all that I’m gonna be
So many emotions I’m fighting insanity
But I’m a clown And don’t mind when they laugh at me
I might write a lot of fiction but don’t take me as fake
Trust me that would be a foolish mistake
Because I’m gonna change the world and make its foundation shake
So I might be a little untraditional and not like the poets you know
I’m something new and my story is just now being told
So if you want to ride with this shooting star grab hold
I don't always know where I'm going 
But I know where to start
As long as I got a line in my head
And a deep pain in my heart
And the sense to find the light when I’m standing in the dark
