Poem -
Sycamore Gap
An iconic image grew strong, it bloomed
Seasons and moods blessed in gentle beauty.
Stood firm, branched out, with nature attunedΒ
An ancient soldier always on duty
Prince of thieves, finding such quiet solaceΒ
Ramblers wall, follow on to the path
Lovers intent, an eternal promiseΒ
Crowds do lament, over woodcutters wrath
Gap now emptied from its stunning glory
Sycamore fell, edited forever
Many now lost a part of their storyΒ
Insanity? Or just big and clever?
Visitors lost, their was more than plentyΒ
Cant resurrect,Β the gap is now empty!

Lorna, alas a sad and current reality check of a write and not a word out of place that echo's in every true nature lovers heart and thoughts.
A bittersweet write of a sonnet perhaps for you,Β concerning what has happened centuries old- alas gone bur never forgotten.
