Take my arm

Take my arm

I come to you at twilight
Raising memories of the past
I whisper you sweet nothings
Words (and pictures) that will last

And if your senses tell you
Reciprocity is King
You’ll be forever my love
We’ll dance, prey, laugh and joke and sing

And when the moonlight warrants
I’ll be drawn toward the stairs
That lead me to your bedroom
And we’ll bundle without care

For care for you is only
What I show when you’re in harm
A time to be forgotten
Come – and take my arm
