Tattered and Torn

A memory box filled with photos, loved ones of the past and present
Some I will keep, some I will not, but the ones most dear
Are tattered and torn, memories of yesterday, long ago moments
Dressed up for picture taking, holiday times, birthday surprises
Graduations, and new babies birth, grandma and grandpa sixtieth wedding anniversary
My first grade class, my high school sweetheart, my graduation from college
My son in his uniform, in his dress blues, the Marine's he loved, he still looked like a little boy
Great grandpa's farm, the big fishing trip, the pictures of the giraffe's at the zoo
What more could I hold so dear, these tattered and torn memories of a childhood thrill
Or the treasure of knowing the loves of my life, was always inside my heart filled with joy

Poetess Nancy,
We memorize so many little things in childhood life, This is so sweet of old incidents well depicted in this poem. The most liked lines, I quote. Thanks for sharing.
