Teardrop

Teardrop

Dainty teardrop, so very crystal clear

Falling slowly, down the softest of cheeks

Filled with such primal and emotive fear

From sparkling green eyes, the water leaks.

Glistening within, such moments of still,

Drawn from those memories, ever so deep.

Falling always down, very much at will

Welling up, from within the ducts you creep

Oh, Dainty teardrop, single little pearl,

more tears emerging, flowing into lakes.

Overspilling, with a mighty unfurl,

Providing solace to a heart that breaks.

When flood subsides, the emotion still stays

Bringing new transformation through weary haze.

Our Ms. Caizley has just posted her first SONNET!!
This is a day for celebration andΒ joy!! ??????

It's beautiful, Lorna. Absolutely exquisite!!!
The imagery is sad, sweet and tenderly rendered.
But the REALLY excellent aspect is how you use irregular (trochaic) feet to upset the flow andΒ rhythm of several lines; echoing the sobs of someone weeping. A masterstroke!!

Colour me IMPRESSED!!!
