Tempest

A tempest sweeps across the hemispheres
As chaos ferments to plummet down
A man ceases within inaudible shrills
Searching for that child inside the clouds
Seasons hold not the sway they had before
When promise enchanted the morning rise
And tomorrow's avenue was just a walk assured
Always migrating toward that golden sky
Emanations ebb to an impetuous breath
And clouds enclose on a moonlit mast
Observing the tide enervate its depth
Unto a mundane gloom; an immutable past
The windshear whimpers with abandoned cries
Echoing a famished infant in the rain outside
Branches flex while crows panic to scatter
Fleeing their young under wings of rapture
Soon the storm will gently subside
But without reason to render hope
For nothing lasts in the lustre of light
In these hemispheres, the darkness holds
The cold swirls around discouraged feet
Too benumbed to drag, to the rattling door and see
That maybe not all that was washed away is lost
And there's still much more reason to believe
Be strong and fight the storm
And in its wake, awaken with the breeze
