Temporary solution

Temporary solution

Yesterday I felt kinda numb.
I wanted to pick up a knife.
Which I know is very dumb.
It's what I do to feel some life.

But instead, I picked up a pen.
And I put it down on my skin.
I did it time and time again.
It somehow worked as a stand-in.

I ended up with beautiful art.
Arms covered in inky lines.
I know each silhouette by heart.
Blue marks spreading like vines.

It’s not a permanent solution.
But for now it will work.
Although I’ve made a resolution.
That I’ll once again find my worth.
