Tenacity

Shaking hands grabbed splintered wood
As I set my sights up high
With trembling feet, I began to climb
The ladders to the sky
Misty kisses on my cheek
Raindrops cooled my skin
As I pierced the suffocating clouds
And ignored the voice within
Distant voices down below
Yelled at me to halt
They said I wouldn't make it
I continued without fault
I had to keep on going
Because I knew despite it all
That the higher I had climbedÂ
The harder I would fall
At last I saw the moon
Silver beckoning light
Illuminating the final rungs
I reached with all my might
Then suddenly I slipped
Feet scrambling on wet wood
And my heart screamed in my throat
As I waited for the thud
But when it didn't come
I dared to open my eyes
And much to my amazementÂ
I was suspended in the skies
I hadn't reached my target
For Jupiter or Mars
But I had tried my very hardest
And still fell among the starsÂ

How beautiful, how wonderful this poem is, you write with such excitement and splender, you will never fall amongst the stars dear Jayne, but rise to be a sun and shine for everyone.
What a kind comment. Thank you very much. Falling amongst the stars isn't so bad. They still shine after all ?Â
