Tennessee

Tennessee

Tennessee looks like new beginnings
And maybe a few rotten & forgotten endings.
The wind is harsh and cold but
It feels honest, like how the waiting had gotten old.

The mountains surrounded, enveloping all inside. I'm smiling now, because the love is at my side.

What is love? It's not what we had shown. For it left as easily as the wind had blown. It was like road kill on a dark road, so forgotten and unknown.

Tennessee feels like moving on
Tennessee looks like letting go
Moving on like the snowflakes at dawn
Letting go, realizing you weren't a friend, you were a foe.

I found this to be a deep and powerful write. The ending was a twist and I love it! 5*s
