Thankful

Thankful

Thoughts rushing through my mind
A million miles an hour
Don’t know how to stop
I want to recover
But I don’t know where to start
This pounding on my chest
Hurting my heart
Slowly tearing my soul apart

I sit in silence wondering how did this begin
The hurt steams from deep within
I feel hopeless day to day
Praying to the heavens above
For it all to disappear
Just to go away

Staring at black walls
Imagining scenes of my life
Promising myself one day
Maybe it will be alright

I’m hopeful
Of recovery
I’m thankful
For my life

Your strength shines through in the poem. Another great poem. That makes three in a row I've read. Butterfly, is still my favorite. Just something about that one that has kept me thinking about how to overcome a huge life struggle and still find time, to write.
