the aftermath

i sat there 
smiling at the mere thought of you 
everything was perfect
blissful even 
but the tears were soon to follow 
one,
then two 
three, four 
they began to pour
as i was pulled out of my ignorance and struck with the realization of how fucking bad the aftermath would be 
the price to pay for a glimpse of happiness 
the inevitable consequences of loving you.
