The Badlands

Go West young man
And bring your pan
To shuffle for gold
Or lands all green and bold
You’ll find your paradise
So don’t think twiceÂ
Pack up and leave today
If you don’t - it’ll get snatched away
Go West young man
And bring a plan
Because there’s nothing but death
And the land hasn’t taken a breath
For thousands of yearsÂ
You can crunch the tears
Go West young man
And bring a caravan
You’ll need the extra help
To hold you when you yelp
In agony at the site of the earth
Which is much drier than the mirth
Go West young man
And bring a fan
Because the will heat will scorchÂ
Your skin like a torch
During the summer that is
The winter’s a more confusing quiz
Go West young manÂ
And bring a tan
Because your super white skin
Will burn and peel and again
Unlike the prairie dogs there
That’ve got coats of protective hair
Go West young manÂ
And bring a man
One with a really big gun
One that can kill everyone
Because you’ll starve to death
Or writhe and lose your breath
