The Best Of Dayton

Last night, Linda and I went to a party, “The Best Of Dayton” with chefs;
Where many nominated restaurants, served up samples of their best!
It was really quite a Shindig, four hundred or more came;
We talked to lots of people, but did not know their names!

It’s theme was “The Roaring Twenties”, many had period outfits on;
But we dressed in “Retro Seventies”, with the clothes we chose to don!
We traded phones with a couple, we took their pics, they took ours;
Standing by a 1929 Ford, a most beautifully restored car!

There were singers and lots of music, we bought tickets “V.I.P.”;
So we got in an hour early, for a special “chic” party!
The place was rocking a little after 7, but like cradled infants, we got tired;
We rolled into our driveway at 8 p.m., went upstairs, and both retired!

                           We stayed till it ended
                              Only in our dreams
