I was chosen, and gifted, the smarts to go get it, 
Put in position, to lead on the mission, 
Questions are quests, for inquiring minds, 
But I have the answers, so why waste the time, 
I must remember that I have to shine, 
Be strong through the storm, and stand when it’s time, 
Build a foundation upon my success, promise my peers, 
I will be the best, swallow my tears, poke out my chest, 
Lift up my head, take in a breath, pray to the lord, 
Ask him what’s next, he said for me, he gave his only son, 
And because I believe, I am The Chosen One,

He’s driving a bargain, sometimes it’s the hardest, 
To resist the urges, of constantly searching, 
For meaning, and purpose, and hope, and some peace, 
In nightclubs, and drugs, and women I meet, 
My days feel dark, when the sun is the brightest, 
The past is my nemesis, nothing can fight it, 
I’ve made those decisions, continued on living, 
Gained knowledge and wisdom, and evaded prison, 
Im not a statistic, i promised my mom I will always be different,
‘Cause I’m on a mission, to put out the music that gets them to listen, 
For I am The Chose One
