~The Damned Things~

~The Damned Things~

~The Damned Things~

~~~~~~~โ€ ~~~~~~~
Theย ancient cemetery's loamย now stirred,
โ€˜neath stoic silence, something isย amiss.
Sageย raven caws,ย a gaunt and ghastly bird
deserts his post above perdition's bliss.
The moon cast shadows 'cross cold misty ground,
soft luminescence lightsย the ghastly scene.
The dead awakeโ€”soon fill theย night withย soundโ€”
discordant dins of death so foul; obscene!
Yet, high atop sepulcher's stout stone walls,
one man of God there perchedโ€”Good Book in tow.
Eyes upturned toward heaven, hoarse voice aย squall;
he cursed the damned things on the ground below.
ย
In morning's mist, the man could notย be found;
ย his burned Bible lie charred on cursed ground.
