The Day of Doom

We have all wondered how this world began
Was it evolution or was it all planned
Whatever it was it made us twice
Because the first time around we all turned to ice

Whatever made this beautiful Earth?
Made women gentle yet strong enough for birth
It gave man large muscles and a will to fight
And made reproduction for humans such a delight

It gave us air and water, sea and land
Fields of grass and deserts of sand
Warm sunny days and cool autumn nights
A colourful world of spectacular sights

The world has changed in just one hundred years
With far too many manmade tears
Men kill so often in the name of faith
Surely all any God would want is for man to live free and be safe

I know to feel pleasure we must also know pain
We don’t always feel guilty and are quick to lay blame
But now is the time to repair the damage man has done
For countries to unite and the world become one

For unless we address these problems soon
It will be sooner than later the day of doom
We were given this Earth with all its treasure
With a little respect we could live here forever.
