The Girl Who's Always Alone
She's the girl who you always see sitting alone.
She doesn't want to seem like a loner so she plays on her phone.
Looks up here and there to see the popular people sitting on their throne.
Puts the jack in to listen to music and puts on her headphones.
She turns to her left and there's a drug deal going on for methadone.
The consumer's friend says it's something he won't be able to control.
He has a good friend, he's telling him like it is as if he were looking through a telescope.
Through the doors that go outside She can see a group smoking dope.
A table in the cafeteria is mourning their friend who last night tied the rope.
What happened to them? It seems like these halls eat everyone at some point and there's no hope.
Seems like yesterday everyone was happy and we would play with a skipping rope,
But in reality, that was ages ago.
Now the common thing is for people to overdose.
Nobody knows who's going to wake up tomorrow.
People are copying others and following their shadow,
but that girl who sits alone.
You can still see her innocence glow.
She hasn't given in to the school's black hole.
Yet she goes unnoticed and unknown.
Lost in her head where she constantly goes.
Nobody cares and nobody knows.
She knows secrets about people that they keep close.
She's the girl that's always alone.

This is amazingly well delivered......I have a thirteen year old friend (Cherie's daughter)... who lives this life.......I've tried to talk to her......she just comes across as SO shy!!...... her cheeks turn red when you approach any of this subject matter....... your write is profound truth in well crafted prose (again)........ you're one of the most talented young writers I've read in a while...... perhaps it comes easy when you're writing PURE truth....... perhaps not...... I can only say......thanx for the glimpse inside........ALL STARS!!...... keep 'em comin' sweet poetess!!..... your cyber-friend and admirer.....T xo. ?✳✴☀
My cheeks turn red for the same reason, I also blush when I get complimeted. Sometimes it isnt easy to talk to people about what goes on at school. I hope she starts to feel more comfortable talking about it in the future! Thank you so much again, it really makes me happy to know that you enjoy what I write.
Great heartfelt poem well written xx
Thank you Wendy?
