THE IGUANA AND MY BANANA

There he stood in Mexico so proud and tallĀ
Green and slimy and certainly wasn't smallĀ
Scales were visible on his neck and backĀ
I had to go steady for fear of an attackĀ

This is a tale of my encounter with an iguanaĀ
Looked me up and down he was after my banana
I gently peeled it away from its bright yellow skin
Fed it to the iguana who ate it with a smiling grin

I then quickly made a very quick and hasty retreatĀ
Not sure what to do if an iguana you should meetĀ
Thank goodness I had my banana with meĀ
Got me out of a pickle as you can plainly seeĀ
