The Magician

The Magician

It's an illusion, the great power from above,
look out of your window - do you see some love?
these rings are joined and then they pull apart,
you want to believe but you haven't got the heart.

Sawed me in half with my hands still waving,
is it your determination that insists on saving?
The atheists and agnostics are sickly breed sign,
so why not convince me, turn my water into wine.

They gave me a 'wire' to make cards disappear,
it worked, unlike hypothesis, no one allowed to jeer,
Forsyth said moon went like conjurer's billiard ball,
after you've been to Syria, your faith begins to pall.

After the magician rests and refuses to intervene,
perhaps you can tell me what wonderful acts mean.

Hey TERRY!!.....I am a card carrying Magician.....Used to work in a Magic shop in Chicago.....have performed many, many, magic shows.....and although I know this piece is not really about magicians I was happy to see the title.....Come to find out its about something MUCH more serious....God and the lack of proof......and loss of faith.....you have once again delivered a "Magical" sonnet that leaves the reader with profound questions.....Pinned this one brother......Bravo!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo  : )

Umm um this seems like a lament in complaint against the happenings in the world. God is not supposed to intervene in each and every evil, the evil is by humans and will be punished and the oppressed compensated forever in afterlife.
sometimes there are tests too sonce this world is not paradise heaven.
You expressed in a creative vivid way and questions many people ask . Kudos!!

Plz do check out my newest too and plz do leave your thoughts comments.

Hi S. zaynab,
Thanks for your comments.
I think that God as our creator has
some responsibility towards us.
The people before Noah's time disobeyed
any 'tests' that may have been given to them
which led to God's intervention.
People will continue to do so irrespective
and in retrospect of anything that may happen.
Regards,
Terry.

I strongly feel that if He stops each and every evil there is no point of the test, we have freewill so we can either misuse and abuse it by doing evil or do good.
If God forcefully prevents all evil that means we are all to be robotic angels with no freewill and a pointless life. I wouldn't want to be deprived of my free will.
In heaven after the evil-doers are weeded out then it will be a perfect life that only the good people will have earned and worked for. Not for free.

HI S.zaynab,
Thanks for reply.
Obviously, constant surveillance defeats free will.
However, failsafe systems (not robotic) should
have been part of our lifestyle. Not impossible
as all the work of the creator has proved.
Regards,
Terry.
