The Messenger

She sends her tender thoughts across the sea
bringing a message just for her and he.
Spread out are her wings, they stretch out to reach
Longing for the warmth that they both beseech.
----------------------------------------------------
Only now can she simply find her smile
Just to wait right here, for a little while
The wait will be worth a thousand times more
They will soon be ready to truly soar
------------------------------------------------------
She sees from afar a want that she needs
Yearning for touch, he just planted the seeds.
Wanting to fly, with him so much higher
Passion inside, it burns with desire
------------------------------------------------------
The message she sends is one of such love
A message that matters not much whereof

This poem is pregnant with hope, anticipation and a joyous expectation of those things fulfilled.
Those wings are borne on a warm current of love and belong to a very welcome Messenger.
I also love the image here; which I know is your own work: and is reminiscent of many of the representations of cherubim and seraphim of the classical period.
Wonderful!!

Hey L, love the painting.
This has to be one of the most beautiful poems you have written ( they're all good). I loved it so much. There is so much I can identify with my sweet Flower and me. So much tenderness and love in every line. Thank you L xox :-)
