The Mountain

Clear water springs, flows streams into lakes
Treacherous at times (air weak) breathing deep
Heaven filled hard rain, flutter of snowflakes
Mud pushing down, Â covers lost days it seeps
Forest's grow new life, Nature's protectress
Caverns underground in darkness they stay
The fragile surface path sees life, sees death
Echos loud rumble ~ rocks fall~ Â keep away!
This is her warning to those passing by
Temptation to climb reaching highest peak
She begs, Cause no Harm, with her resonant sigh
She calls from the core, listen to her speak
Climate takes a toll on her outmost crust
Nature's damage done, in you she must trust

This is very nearly kaleidoscopic...a mosaic of imagery and prosody which paints the mere impression of ideas and feelings...both elusive and yearning.
I love this line...it's indicative of the overall strangeness and uncanny nature of the whole poem.
And I'm chuffed that you used an image of Muckish! Next time you come to Ireland...we'll climb it together...I know how much you LOVE mountain-climbing!!!!
Mysterious is this voice of the mountain...
I love it...and you...

I love the contrast in this poem...beauty and danger...that's an oxymoron but you weave that beautifully....The picture is great...Nicely written..Lots of love
